Evacuation routes

  • Once you put on the river at Yankee Jim Road, there is no good place to exit the canyon until the take out at Ponderosa Way.

  • For the next two miles you can possible exit by climbing out of the canyon on river right and making contact with one of the various informal trails.
  • Up until you get to Sore Finger point about 2 1/2 miles into the trip, you might also be able to get help from one of the land owners of property scattered on river right.
  • After Sore Finger Point, there is no way to exit until you get to the take-out at Ponderosa Way.
