American Rivers
North America’s leading national river-saving organization. Their mission is to preserve and restore America’s river systems and to foster a river stewardship ethic.
American Whitewater
Mission to conserve and restore America’s whitewater resources and enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely.
European Rivers Network
The aim of ERN, is to unite associations and organizations working on rivers and to increase communication between these organizations in order to better preserve the natural rivers in Europe.
Foothill Conservancy
The primary environmental organization working for conservation and restoration of the upper Mokelumne River. They helped open the Middle Bar reach to public access and secured the construction of the boating takeout, played a major role in negotiating the PG&E hydro settlement/new license on the river, are the main advocates for North Fork Mokelumne Wild and Scenic designation, and sponsor the annual Mokelumne River cleanup.
Friends of the River
Friends of the River looks to get beyond the notion of flood “control” and toward a more realistic understanding of rivers and floods.
